How many monuments do you know that have been built during the Ottoman era in Greece?
An estimate of 10.000 monuments exists, dating from that period, dispersed all around the country.
Take a photo of a monument to enter the Photography Competition organized by the Museum of Greek Folk Art, Travelogue magazine and the Goethe-Institut.
The photos should have as their main subject monuments of the Ottoman era in Greece: forts, bridges, houses, hamams, mosques, churches, synagogues, markets, etc. Have a look at our interactive map on the website, for inspiration and ideas.
The competition is open to schoolchildren (7-18 years old) and amateur photographers of all ages.
The deadline for submitting your photos is the 15th March 2012. You can send your photos by e-mail (.jpeg or .tiff files) at the address firstname.lastname@example.org or by post at Anemon Productions, 5 Stisihorou st, 106 74 Athens, Greece.
The winning photos will be presented at a special event at the Bath-House of the Winds in Plaka (Museum of Greek Folk Art) in April 2012, and will be published at the magazine ‘Travelogue’.
