360 VIRTUAL
SOUND & SMELL

A specially designed installation will allow visitors to experience a soundwalk and a smellscape of the Ottoman era.

Visitors to the exhibition will travel back in time through smells used in Ottoman period buildings: jasmine, rose, laurel and mastic - perfumes which are rooted in the history of the region, and which remain popular today.

Visitors will also experience a soundwalk, created by Andreas Diktyopoulos in collaboration with Geert Vermeire and About. As visitors move through the exhibition, their movement triggers special sensors, which release sounds related to each photo.
